- A 35-metre diameter, 74-kg parachute for the ExoMars Rosalind Franklin rover was heat-sterilised at ESA’s ESTEC facility in the Netherlands. - The sterilisation completes a planetary protection milestone for the mission ahead of its planned 2028 launch. - The parachute will slow the rover during Martian atmospheric descent. - The work is part of pre-launch assembly and contamination-control procedures for ExoMars.
